Plastic CNC Routing

Sentinel Plastics operates five advanced CNC routing machines, capable of producing an exceptional variety of precision‑cut plastic shapes. We work with a wide range of engineering and industrial plastics, giving customers extensive material choices to suit their specific applications.

Our routing equipment features large cutting tables that accommodate sheet sizes up to 3000 mm × 2000 mm and material thicknesses from 1 mm to 50 mm. Using top‑brand CNC routers, we consistently achieve high‑quality finishes and precise dimensions, meeting even the most demanding production standards.

Experienced Plastic Sheet CNC Machining

Our experienced routing machinists are skilled in producing both small and large batch quantities with exceptional accuracy and speed, making CNC routing a highly efficient and cost‑effective solution for manufacturing precision plastic components.

From conveyor system manufacturers to the high‑tech field of underwater exploration, customers trust Sentinel’s expertise not only for the quality of our work but also for the cost savings and problem‑solving support we provide throughout the design and production process.

Examples of Materials CNC Machined

Polycarbonate, Lexan, Acrylic, Perspex, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polyester, Polyester Glass, HIPS, Pressboard, Vulcanised Fibre, Wood, Peek, Epoxy Glass, Engraving Laminate, SRBP, SRBF, ABS,Tufnol, Nylon, PVC, Acetal, Delrin PETG.

How do Plastic CNC Routers Work

CNC routers operate using CAD (Computer‑Aided Design) data in combination with a toolpath program. Within this software, we define the cutting paths, select the appropriate cutters, and automatically generate machining instructions and estimated run times. Once the setup is complete, the plastic sheet is secured — typically using a vacuum hold‑down system, although mechanical fixturing or a combination of both may also be used. The correct router bits are then installed, and the routing process begins.

CNC routers cut along three axes: X (forward and back), Y (left and right), and Z (up and down). Working within these axes and using a range of specialist tooling, complex 3D shapes and precise profiles can be produced with remarkable accuracy. The machine bed size and cutting range ultimately define the maximum dimensions of the workpiece that can be machined — but beyond that, the possibilities are virtually limitless.
